Estate Planning with Adams Law

Your Trusted Partner for Estate Planning

Proudly Owned and Operated by Adams Law, LLC in Denver, Colorado

At Adams Law, our Trust and Estate Planning team is with you for the long term.  From creating a basic estate plan that minimizes your heirs’ hassles while they grieve your passing to creating trusts and asset protection strategies and tactics to help you keep what you’ve worked hard to acquire.

Basic estate plans through Adams Law give clear instructions to your personal representative or executor as to how to distribute your assets to your heirs, whether they all take equally, need protection from adverse creditors, to give extra time for heirs in their 20’s to mature with deferred inheritance, to some you may wish to dis-inherit.  We have you covered.

Our Estate Planning Services are Basic and Unique

  • We use special legal tools so that you can avoid the hassle to your heirs of probate court administration; houses and other real property can simply be set up to transfer title on death.
  • We monitor the federal and state inheritance tax laws which change annually so you can minimize your heirs’ tax implications (currently at about $12M).
  • We can advise you to use our co-counsel in other states for sophisticated asset protection, to hold high-value assets for your heirs and beneficiaries. For example, trust laws in Delaware, Alaska, Nevada and more than a dozen other states have special protections under Domestic Asset Protection Trusts to hold your assets more securely in protection against adverse creditors.
  • Through our knowledge of adverse creditor legal actions, we can assist you in creating a robust set of estate plans that will protect assets for high net-worth individuals.

Avoid probate court by making sure your estate is done thoroughly and properly the first time

Probate court can be costly to your heirs upon your death.  If you work with the staff at Adams Law to execute the proper and thorough estate plan, you save money.  You generally pay about 10% to have a thorough plan versus the price your heirs will be charged to administer your estate upon your untimely passing when the estate is in disarray.

How to choose the right Estate Planning attorney

When searching for the right estate planning attorney, there are things you should be looking for and things you should avoid.  Not identifying these key points when you make your decision lead to paying excess fees and worst of all, it can lead to your heirs fighting over things you could have made clear at a great expense to your estate upon your passing.

Beware of Estate Planning Attorneys who do not practice also in probate court

This seems like a no-brainer…  however Adams Law cleans up a lot of messy estates in probate court at a great expense to the heirs of an estate when a proper and thorough estate plan execution is not all that difficult nor expensive.  Bad estate planning attorneys simply focus on charging fees, requiring regular reviews, even annual reviews that are costly and unnecessary.  The very first question you should be asking an estate planning attorney is whether or not they actually have any pending cases in probate court.  If they don’t, consider it a big red flag, as likely they don’t have the deeper experience you want on your side.

TESTIMONIALS

“Roger was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and thorough with answering my questions. He asked great questions and was honest about what my best options were as well as if it was worth it for me to hire him. Even though I had issues with a small case, he lead me in the right direction, spent time with me answering my questions and concerns, and instead of turning me away like other attorney’s, gave me applicable guidance on my next steps. I will definitely head back to Roger when that time comes, and would highly recommend him not only for his professionalism, but knowledge and expertise.

Roger is extremely professional, personable, detailed oriented and has a lot of experience. If you need help with estate planning or bankruptcy contact Adams Law. It is great to have Roger on your side.”

Lisa H.

Roger was great attorney! 7 years later called him for information I was needing and he was able provide it for me. I would definitely recommend him!

Reanna F.

I’ve worked with a lot of Attorneys in my 30+ years in business and I must say that I was totally taken back by Roger’s professionalism and consistency. Not to mention he has a great personality and is far from the legal robots I’ve had to deal with in the past. He assisted us with a very difficult real estate transaction involving multiple individuals and institutions. It took four months to complete and I’m not sure we would have been able to close without Roger’s involvement. And he was easily accessible and readily available from start to finish. I highly recommend him.
